Using OPVN client with Private Tunnel not using tunnel IP

Post by rjconroy » Fri Dec 18, 2020 2:54 pm

My team is using both the Private tunnel to connect to the web, then using the openvpn client when necessary to connect to the cloud.
The issue i am having with this is that for some reason the openvpn client is still seeing the true public IP and using that interface, instead of the tunnel IP.
All request to server go out using the actual public IP rather than the assigned tunnel IP, yet this only seems to affect the vpn client.
am i missing something on config here?

Hello
Im just updating this as this is still an open issue for me that i have been unable to resolve.
This issue is simple, if my users are using private tunnel to connect to the web, AND using the openvpn client to connect to my cloud, the openvpn tunnel session is not using the private tunnel ip but falling back to the actual public IP as shown in the openvpn server logs.
What am i missing? Shouldnt this be using the private tunnel IP?
