Check port forwards and firewall.
Does it ever connect?

Does it work from another network, not LTE?
Or a different device?

On the pi, here's the /var/log/openvpn-status.log file contents:

Are there other logs I should peruse? Also attempted to connect from another device on wifi on same network as pi - Droid tablet to no avail.

How, on this site does it appear that "folks in the know" respond to a person's request for assistance and lead them along to a point, then Poof...they're Gone!? No further updates, thus dropping the entire effort !!? Seen it over and over here. If you're not going to continue the troubleshooting ahy waste both of our times!!? Amazing

It's hard to get frustration under control and move on to read the howto and manual to discover we get frustrated once again because we lack some basic knowledge.
Let's blame the free support we get from volunteers.....
viewtopic.php?t=22603
Read it ^^^!
Maybe Verizon LTE changed something about their network, your phone got an update, you changed some setting you forgot about...
Add
to your server config and restart.

Yay! That's all I needed! As we all are well aware, there are no stupid questions in tech....only the ones we dont ask. We all come here for help since you are the "experts" putting yourself out there to assist. With no reply after a string of Q&As one can only assume you either A, you just dont know anything further, or B, you cant get past your arrogance for folks less informed than you. Which was it?

What you needed was viewtopic.php?t=22603 and then the server log @ verb 4
