TAP Mode Is Not Supported

Post by gil_happy » Mon Sep 30, 2019 6:29 pm

Hello,

Currently, I have OpenVPN Connect version 3.0.0 installed on my Windows 10 PC and I'm having an issue when importing a particular client .ovpn file. When I 'Import From File', it gives me the following error (I have another .ovpn file that works just fine [In TUN mode]):

- Failed to parse profile: option_error: proto_option_error: TAP mode is not supported

I currently have my router (DDWRT) set up to use TAP (vs TUN) for a specific environment. I believe that I had this working before on a older Windows 10 laptop, but maybe not.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix?

Thanks!

This is not the open source version of OpenVPN and it does not support --dev tap

Thank you - once I downloaded OpenVPN 2.4.7, I was able to connect.
