Hostname Routing

Post by exlipse » Thu Jun 13, 2019 6:14 pm

Hi all, I've been searching around but haven't seen this exact issue addressed yet. Does the Android OpenVPN app (official) not support hostname routing? As in, client config: route something.myserver.com 255.255.255.255. I get an error in the log stating that something.myserver.com is not a valid IP address. This client config does work in the Windows OpenVPN app as expected. The route does work in Android if I reconfigure it with the real IP and not the hostname. I'd much rather use hostnames for some routes that don't have static public IPs. Any thoughts?

I'll have to check to see what that option does, thanks for the lead.

That option looks like it would help, but it didn't change the behavior in the app. In fact, I can see the option in the log under 'Unused Options' so I'm assuming it's not supported.
