I have a simliar problem. I followed every step but it doesn't worke out. My client is a Raspberry Pi and it is connected via Ethernet to a Windows Machine. I think the problem is that I didn't configure the pi as a router. Do I need to configure it to establish a subnetwork correctly?

If you want access to your client LAN then the client (RPi) must have routing enabled.
