Env.:
- Windows Server 2008 Foundation (64 bits)
- OpenVPN 2.1.2
Hi All,
OpenVPN installs fine except for the TAP adapter: I can't see it. Neither can OpenVPN.
I did use admin privileges.
I tried addtap to no avail: It seemes like everything works fine but my adapter doesn't show up.
I tried deltapall.bat : It shows that nodes were installed though.
I tried downloading the 64 bits drivers (why aren't they in the OpenVpn setup?) from openvpn.se (still an unsigned 0801 version): Same again: apprently installs but doesn't show up.
Please help!
TIA,
Serge.

Re: TAP adapter won't install on Windows Server 2008
It could be a problem with 2.1.2.
I have a lot of trouble with it under Win7 x64.
Have you tried 2.1.1?

I have the same issue on Windows 7 Pro x64.
Did the signature of the TAP driver expire?

Re: TAP adapter won't install on Windows Server 2008
Intruder73, 100% bulls eye!
I uninstaled 2.1.2 and installed 2.1.1 -> TAP interface installs like a charm.
I must say that since then, I found that the signature of the driver was not recognized. I also found that modifying the policy to enable and ignore unsigned drivers didn't work.
And this morning, I received the announcement e-mail from James. At that moment, I realized that 2.1.2 is brand new!
I'll try to get in touch with him. I once was subscribed to the devel mailing list but I'm no longer. Is there a way t get in touch with him using these forums?
Thanks again.
Serge.
