Hi guys, I’m hoping someone may be able to help with this. I’m using openvpn on windows 8.1 which works fine except for it disconnecting every 24 hours. At first I thought it might be my routers dhpc but I have disabled that and it still disconnects after 24 hours
At present it's just a standard install of openvpn 2.3.8. Any Ideas?

It is probably your internet service provider public IP DHCP renew ..
which is probably beyond your control, unless you request a fixed IP address from your ISP.

Was hoping for a workaround as the VPN connection just hangs at exactly the same time each day which does tie in with it being the ISP but the OpenVPN icon remains green as if all is well but has no connection.
I don't think a fixed IP is an option as they will probably charge a lot for it! I guess all I can do is setup a schedule to taskill and then restart the VPN a minute after it disconnects.

It's just an OpenVPN setup provided by a Seedbox server.

It's just an OpenVPN setup provided by a private server

The server is not under your control .: the server may forcibly disconnect you no matter what you try.
