Upgrading OVPN 2.3.4I002 to OVPN 2.3.6I02

Hi Experts,

I have decided to upgrade the existing build of OpenVPN in my server which is existing "2.3.4I002" to "2.3.6I02" but when I try to upgrade after stopping the openvpn service the setup started normally but when it ask to add the tap adapter it gives error like "An error occured installing the Tap Device Driver" after clicking ok the setup finishes fine. Apart from this another weird problem comes when I started clean installation of OpenVPN 2.3.6I02 on a server, the installation adds a TAP driver by default after adding the IP ranges for it in the OVPN-TCP config file it gets up while the other adapter that we add manually gets up but the clients won't be able to connect.

By moving from OpenVPN 2.3.4-I00x to OpenVPN 2.3.6-I60x you will be
upgrading the TAP adapter from NDIS-5 to NDIS-6 .. this is known to cause problems.

• OpenVPN Community Edition version 2.3.x (Current):
  
  TAP NDIS6 driver versions:
  • Installer (32-bit), Windows Vista and later = openvpn-install-2.3.6-I60x-i686.exe
    Installer (64-bit), Windows Vista and later = openvpn-install-2.3.6-I60x-x86_64.exe
  TAP NDIS5 driver versions:
  • Installer (32-bit), Windows XP and later = openvpn-install-2.3.6-I00x-i686.exe
    Installer (64-bit), Windows XP and later = openvpn-install-2.3.6-I00x-x86_64.exe
  If you are having trouble with any NDIS6 version please try the NDIS5 version.

Hi Guys,

I also have same kind of issue but after the error OpenVPN service will start properly and works fine, but I afraid that it may be create problem later during load of traffic on it.

Kindly advise.
