Drawbacks of Raspberry Pi or Pogoplug for OpenVPN

Post by scurrier » Fri Jan 24, 2014 7:07 am

I've got OpenVPN working on a windows machine, but am thinking about migrating to a small appliance more like a Raspberry Pi or Pogoplug, which are on similar ARM architectures. I actually have the Pogoplug sitting next to me (E02 version). Reading around, I know that throughput will be a drawback for going this route, but it may be worth it if there aren't any other drawbacks.

Are there any other drawbacks?

1. Will TAP still work?

2. Any reason to believe that the network hardware in these small ARM systems would be missing critical features or support required for a full OpenVPN implementation?

Thanks in advance!
