Cannot ping IP address configured for tap interface

Hello,

Why on windows it's not possible to ping the IP address configured for TAP interface ?

I have configured IP address for tap using,
netsh ip set address "my-tap" 10.0.0.1 255.255.255.0

but when I tried ping 10.0.0.1, it results in timeout.

Any help would be greatly appriciated, thanks in advance.

Have you set up IP-address and subnet mask?Make sure you should enable tap interface and IP forwarding.
