Sporadic connection to VPN using OpenVPN GUI v3

I'm using Windows 7 x64 and OpenVPN GUI v3 to connect to our VPN server. Most times I can connect successfully. However sometimes when I try to connect I don't even get the password popup. It hangs before that. The logs look like this -

I have been facing this problem for many months now and haven't found a fix yet. Please help!

I have added OpenVPN Daemon and OpenVPN GUI in the Windows Firewall exceptions to allow it through the firewall.
