Re: Connection fails on iOS 16
We're experiencing this with several remote users as well.
The workaround seems to only work for static/saved passwords.
We use MFA, and in testing it only connects once when the profile is first added, but even that isn't consistent. If I disable MFA and set a password, we can connect every time using the connect button in IOS settings.
Hoping for a fix soon so I don't need to disable MFA on 100+ users and set static passwords just to undo it in a couple of weeks...
Thanks to the OP for posting the problem and workaround.

Re: Connection fails on iOS 16
Same problem here, but i think i found a workaround to use any vpn.
If the connection with the openvpn ios app does not work, create a "workaround openvpn connection" to anywhere and store username and password. It does not need to reach anything on the otherside, only establish the tunnel. Switch now in the iOS VPN and start this vpn. After this one connected, close it and switch over to the openvpn App. Now you can use any vpn connection you want, also with no stored user or password. This will work until you disconnect and close the openvpn app. Tried this with a sophos ssl vpn and passwort + otp (no store of password possible).
Hope this helps someone

Looks like it is working on iOS 16.5.1 (tried on: iPhone 14 & iPhone 8) / [OpenVPN connect version: 3.3.3 (5109)]

Re: Connection fails on iOS 16
Using OpenVPN Connect version 3.3.3 (latest stable release). Updating to iOS 16.5.1 has partially solved the issue. Basically you can now connect to any VPN tunnel from within the app just by clicking on the connect button 3 times: on (it won’t work this time), off, and then on again.
However, I also tested the new beta that the OpenVPN staff kindly provided and the issue seems to have been completely fixed. I haven’t had time to test it thoroughly, but the big problem we were all complaining of looks gone! Thanks!

Hi! God bless this forum
I've tested 3.3.4 beta on iOS 16.5.1 (iPho e 13 Pro) and it worked. Waiting for stable version in App Store.
Thanks to App development team for fast reaction on this problem.

Re: Connection fails on iOS 16
Hey, it's annoying when your iPhone doesn't automatically connect to your Wi-Fi, right? Feels like you're always having to manually join. Here's the deal, a few things might be causing this:-
Check your Wi-Fi router settings:- Make sure your router is broadcasting its Wi-Fi signal properly. Sometimes you might need to adjust the settings or even restart your router.
Forget and rejoin the network:- Go into your iPhone's Wi-Fi settings, "forget" the network, and then try rejoining it. This can sometimes refresh the connection.
Check your iPhone's settings:- Make sure Wi-Fi Assist is enabled. This setting allows your iPhone to switch between Wi-Fi and cellular data to ensure the best possible connection.
Check for software updates:- Outdated software can sometimes cause compatibility issues with Wi-Fi networks.
If the problem persists after trying these solution, you can follow for more details assistance below.
