SAML Login for Admin Users

SAML setup was smooth and has been great for clients, although it doesn't seem to work for Admin Panel access.

Once logged in to the CWS, the "Go to Admin Panel" button is available. If clicked, it redirects to the Admin Panel login screen and prompts to login again with local credentials, the SAML option is not available like on CWS.

Is there something I'm missing or is this just not supported?

Logging in to the Admin UI on Access Server with a SAML account is currently not supported. You can login as a standard user, but you can not login as an admin user.

You are advised to use the local admin user you started out with before setting up SAML to access the admin interface.

We are aware that people want this functionality but there are some practical blockers at the moment that we are working to resolve, so in a future release it will eventually come. Until then please access the admin UI using a locally authenticated admin user while letting your normal users use SAML.

It's being more than a year, have OpenVPN resolved the issue for supporting SAML access in Admin Portal?
