Custom scripts when connecting to VPN

Post by jmltcs » Thu Feb 29, 2024 1:24 pm

Hi Team,

Is there any possibility to run a custom script when a user of an organization connects to the VPN of the office using only the client, I mean without access to the Admin Web UI, the script should run locally.
I read this: https://openvpn.net/access-server-manua ... rst-login/
But it´s not possible because we don´t have Admin UI .

Thanks

Hi jmltcs,

Admin UI is be available if you were to use OpenVPNS Access Server solutions.
Over there you can configure custom client side scripting which will be pushed by the AS to the client upon VPN connection/disconnect.

Hi JosephS,

Thanks for reaching me out, I'm aware that this is possible with the AS, but the thing is this possible without the AS?, Is there any solution that can run a script when making a succesfull connection on the VPN?. I´ve tried several things like looking in the events log in Windows but nothing seems to appear when making a good connection. Like I said, I only need to run a script when you press the button to connect to the VPN and then the connection is stablished correctly.

Regards,
