It sounds like your OpenVPN server is currently set up to only route traffic intended for the VPN network over the VPN. This could be why your IP isn't being masked as expected.

To get all of your traffic to go through the VPN, you'll need to modify your server configuration. Specifically, you'll need to add this line: 'push "redirect-gateway def1"' to your server configuration file. This will instruct your client to route all traffic over the VPN.

This change should help mask your IP. If you're new to modifying OpenVPN configuration files, you might find this OpenVPN HOWTO guide helpful:https://openvpn.net/community-resources/how-to/

Remember to restart your OpenVPN service after making any changes to the configuration file.

If you want to use the VPN for specific purposes, but not route all traffic through it, you can remove the "redirect-gateway" line from the server configuration. This will prevent the server from redirecting all the client's traffic through the VPN, and your original IP should no longer be visible when checking your IP address. for more information see the doc: https://openvpn.net/community-resources ... s-policies
