CONFUSION about importing ssh identity from github or launchpad

i used the ssh-keygen -t ed25519-sk -c "your email" to create the ssh for github, I was to be able to have the ssh identity prepared for when I do a server install. does openvpn work with the ed25519-sk yet also do I need to copy the private key over to the server ? I did find ssh.com
See today I used a lubuntu install on virtualbox to create the key for github. But that private key has to get on the server somehow right ?
