Build openvpn 2.5.5 from source

Post by claude » Sat Feb 12, 2022 6:33 pm

Hello,

The latest version of OpenVPN is 2.5.5. I'm trying to build this version from source. I checked out the code from https://github.com/OpenVPN/openvpn-build. I saw this file https://github.com/OpenVPN/openvpn-buil ... build.vars had OPENVPN_VERSION set to 2.5.4 instead of 2.5.5? I modified it to 2.5.5 and it seemed to have built successfully. Any reason why it's set to 2.5.4 instead of the latest version of 2.5.5?

Thanks

Why is the default version in build.vars set to 2.5.4 rather than to the latest version available in the community downloads which is 2.5.5?

How do I build OpenVPN on Linux with LZO real-time compression library?
Do I need to build LZO real-time compression library beforehand?
What parameters should I use?
