IP address info could not be fetched within 30.0 seconds

I keep getting the following message.
IP address info could not be fetched within 30.0 seconds
Sometimes it works, sometimes it does not. I try several connections until it works. If i go back into the last connection that worked, it no longer works and the cycle begins again.

I was able to resolve the issue by going into Settings > Advanced > Connecting & Disconnecting and check the box next to "Set DNS after routes are set instead of before routes are set".
