I've read that “When started, the OpenVPN Service Wrapper will scan the C:\Program Files\OpenVPN\config-auto folder for .ovpn configuration files, starting a separate OpenVPN process on each file.” I have created a config-auto folder; I have put in there an .ovpn file, .tls KEY file, and Personal Information file. But on restarting and logging into Windows a connection is not automatically started.
My OpenVPN client GUI settings has the following three options checked: Launch on User Logon; Show script window; and Always use interactive service. The OpenVPNServiceInteractive service is set to Automatic.
Can someone point me to what else I should do to make it unnecessary to manually connect?
My OpenVPN server is a pfSense 2.5.2 plugin.
OpenVPN client GUI auto-connect .ovpn files on Windows login?

You cannot use the Openvpn-GUI with an auto-connect profile.

I am new to this, so I wonder is there another free client that can auto-connect on Windows login?

What options are there then to have openVPN automatically connect to my VPN service provider?

The GUI does not use the configs in the config-auto folder.
If you want to use the GUI then use the settings to start it automatically.
