Using OpenVPN3 as a client on Ubuntu for the first time

I installed OpenVPN3 on Ubuntu following these instructions https://community.openvpn.net/openvpn/w ... nVPN3Linux. It says nothing about how to configure a connection to my VPN however. It does have
--config ${MY_CONFIGURATION_FILE}
so there must be a file that contains config information.

How do I configure OpenVPN3 on Ubuntu?

I'm using the client, but I'm posting here because I didn't see a forum for the client.
