Openvpn3 newbie

OS: Linux Mint 19.x (Ubuntu Bionic)
~$ openvpn3 version
OpenVPN 3/Linux v8_beta (openvpn3)
OpenVPN core 3.git:HEAD:743a525f linux x86_64 64-bit
Copyright (C) 2012-2017 OpenVPN Inc. All rights reserved.

I went here and look for instructions to start openvpn3,
https://github.com/OpenVPN/openvpn3-linux/

Starting a VPN session:
$ openvpn2 --config my-vpn-config.conf

and this:

$ ls -al /usr/share/doc/packages/openvpn
ls: cannot access '/usr/share/doc/packages/openvpn': No such file or directory

And I do not have a configuration file.
All I have is a <filename>.ovpn file.

Please advice what to do.
