Issues with VPN

Post by Spring » Tue May 15, 2018 8:25 am

Hi guys!

Please help me understand two questions:
1. A VPN server is configured on the router (openwrt). When connecting to it from a Windows PC (via openvpn), there are no problems (normal speed, all network resources are normally opened). But on Linux (Arch Linux, tried with two PC) with the same VPN client configuration as for Windows - the speed is much lower. Also, when changing and saving the settings of the web page of the router, an error occurs that the connection is not protected (firefox). Through ssh often hangs, you have to reconnect the VPN connection. In general, it seems that something is blocking the VPN.
2. There is a network of the form 172.20.0.1 through which it connects (via openvpn) to the VPN server (network 192.168.0.1). In this case, some internal sites that work on the 172.20.0.1 network stop opening (informing you that vpn is connected). I understand that need to set up a routing, but how can I do this so that 2 networks work simultaneously?

If you need any data, I can write it. Thank you.

Because you are using HTTP not HTTPS ..

I use https like this https:\\192.168.1.1
Then the error is probably something like "This site is not properly configured" or "the security is not trusted"

The exact message is required ..

You will need to ask the OpwnWRT people about the problem. Maybe your firmware is very old ..
