I've noticed that when connecting in to an OpenVPN server and scanning other normal Windows clients on the subnet (not the OpenVPN client's subnet of 10.x.x.x but the 192.x.x.x subnet where all the machines are), that I can see them and ping them, but their MAC addresses are blank according to any number of utils like Network Scanner, Advanced IP Scanner, etc. Lacking this information makes identifying machines more difficult.
This wouldn't happen if connected in via PPTP or, of course, if I was actually at the site.
I was just wondering if there's any way to work around this with an OpenVPN configuration tweak (short of remote desktoping into a given PC and running the scan from it).
Thanks
Exposing MAC addresses possible with OpenVPN?
