OpenVPN for Android client: Error: endtag <//ca> missing

Post by timg11 » Sat Aug 25, 2018 11:50 pm

I have an OpenVPN server on a Raspberry Pi following this guide.

I have four Android Clients using OpenVPN for Android. Two are able to connect to the server, and two do not.

The ones that fail get to the point of entering the private key password, then fail with these messages:

Code: Select all

	Error: endtag <//ca> missing
	Exiting due to fatal error
Process exited with exit value 1
All four clients were configured by importing .ovpn files generated by the Pi server.

I have inspected the generated configurations, and they all have </ca> tags after the certificate. The configurations look similar between working and nonworking. The cert and key data is identical from comparing the first characters. The ones that fail seem to repeat some of the certificate and key blocks.

Details on the Clients and versions of Android and OVPN client software:

Working Configurations
Samsung Note 4 Phone Andriod 5.1.1 (OpenVPN for Android 0.7.5)

Samsung Galaxy S4 Android 4.4.4 (OpenVPN for Android 0.6.7.3)

Non Working Configurations
Galaxy Tab S2 Tablet (Android 7.0) (OpenVPN for Android 0.7.5)

Google Nexus 10 Tablet (Android 4.4.4) ( OpenVPN for Android 0.7.5)

I'm facing the same problem. Did anyone find a solution for this problem?

Same problem here, Tag-structure in certificate is correct. Perhaps I am missing a Certificate in my Windows 10 computer?
Older certificates generated by the RasPi are still working fine in windows
