Ubuntu 20.04

Hi All,

We have a large investment in OpenVPN community edition. I'm noticing that there's limited packages for Ubuntu 20.04.

The official Ubuntu package is 2.4.7 rather than 2.4.9 and the official community package from OpenVPN is just a 2.5 beta release rather than the 2.4.9 stable release. There doesn't seem to be a stable branch for Ubuntu 20.04.

I wonder if anyone can provide any insights. I'd like to see a 20.04 stable branch. Do I have to wait until 2.5 is out of beta?

I'm quite familiar with https://community.openvpn.net/openvpn/w ... twareRepos The only official repository for Ubuntu Focal is 2.5beta

Most of our fleet is Ubuntu 16.04 or 18.04. With 20.04.1 released and hopefully the LTS upgrade from 18 to 20 coming "real soon now". We're planning to upgrade the entire fleet to 20.04.

I'm trying to decide if we should use the official Ubuntu package or the OpenVPN Stable package. I can always use the Debian 10 Repository which seems to work well.

I was really just wondering if the OpenVPN community had anything insightful to share.

The only official repository for Ubuntu Focal is 2.5beta

This is no doubt an over-sight .. I have passed this information on to the repo maintainer.
