My use case is described here: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1592596
What seems to be happening is that when the second VPN (the one without default route) is connected, VPN transport packets are initially routed over the existing, default-route-serving, VPN. But the host route created by openvpn for this second VPN is now trying to talk to the remote over the underlying WLAN interface.
This leads to outbound packets from my machine going over the WLAN, while incoming packets from the remove openvpn server coming back over the default-route-service VPN's tunnel instead.
Is there a way to ensure that the host route that's added for the VPN remote is added before the connection is made?
Two VPNs, one with default route, problems routing VPN packets for second (non-default) one
