Help needed on connecting OpenVPN to Synology NAS with iPhone

Hi,

I have a problem that I hope someone on the forum can help me sort out or point me in the right direction.

I just got a Synology NAS and I'm now trying to connect to the Synology NAS through OpenVPN. I have followed the directions on this website: https://ahkhai.com/2017/04/06/setting-u ... -synology/.

I have then followed the instructions on this site (https://ahkhai.com/2017/04/06/connect-f ... pn-server/) to copy the certificate to the OpenVPN app on my iPhone and imported it there.

When I try to connect all the attempts get a connection time out. I have pasted the log-file below.

There is one thing that might be making problems. I live in a building with 20 apartments. We have a fiber connection for the whole building. However, the whole building has one public IP address that works as kind of a DHCP server to the individual apartments. When making the changes to the VPNConfig.ovpn files I enter the public IP address. I don't know if that's part of the problem.

I hope that you can help point me in the right direction.

Why not follow Synology DSM help to setup ...

1. You need a port forward on the "buildings router", talk with the person in control.
2. If that is not possible you can try Synology`s Quick Connect.
