Linux Version of Importing .ovpn Files?

Post by nasheayahu » Mon Jun 07, 2021 12:04 am

Hi,

Was hoping there is a GUI / Plugin for the Linux OpenVPN that will automate the importing of the .ovpn files?

Hello nasheayahu,

As far as I know that doesn't exist yet. OpenVPN3 Linux client is making good moves in the direction of easing imports. It comes with a command line interface that makes importing .ovpn profiles pretty easy and it can even import from our commercial products like OpenVPN Access Server. But a GUI component to integrate with that doesn't exist yet. But that is a logical future development for that client.

At best you can separate out the certificates and load it into OpenVPN Network Manager plugin. It's a little awkward for the import procedure but it works.

Kind regards,
Johan
