Problem after upgrading to iOS 12 - Tunnel won't reconnect

Hello,

I just upgraded my iPhone X to iOS 12. I am using openVPN Connect Version 3.0.1 (770).

My tunnel should be always up and I set the Connection Timout Settings to: "Continously Retry". This worked on iOS 11.4.1 very well, but after upgrading, the tunnel won't reconnect anymore. When I open the App I get a popup with the message: "There was an error attemping to connect to the selected server." I can cancel or retry. When I push retry, the tunnel will come up again. But normally this should be done automatically.

As I really need to use the VPN "always on", I hope someone can help me here. Btw same behaviour on my iPad Pro after upgrading to iOS 12.

Add me to the list on this one. I have Seamless Tunnel enabled and the Connection Timeout set to Continuously Retry and occasionally (seems like at least once a day) I'll notice the VPN not connected and upon opening the app I see the same message "There was an error attempting to connect to the selected server." Tapping Retry always connects right away without any issue. I don't know if it is iOS 12 or the new version of OpenVPN Connect, but I never had this issue with iOS 11 and the previous version of OpenVPN Connect using the exact same server and client configs.

I created an account specifically to chime in on this thread.

I too have the aforementioned reconnection/disconnection issue in iOS 12 running the OpenVPN connect app v3.0.1. The silent disconnect happens far more frequently for me though (multiple times a day) and as such the failure to auto reconnect too.

Running openvpn connect v3.0.1 on iOS 11.4.1 did not quietly disconnect as frequently but did succeed more often in auto reconnecting.

I’ll start another thread for this, but, is it too much to ask for a proper Notification Center pop up for an app event!?

Same problem here. Looks like OpenVPN Connect crashes as the logs show the following exactly when the popup with the error appears:

This issue should be fixed in 3.0.2. Please try this release.

We'll I've been connected for 12 hours straight without any interruption which is a lot better than it was doing...So I guess so far so good
