Transfers hang, connection not stable

Hello,

I am using couple of combinations of OpenVPN:
I have both at work and at home a Sophos appliance, configured with SSL Remote Connection (OpenVPN).
I have two iPhones, a 7 and X.
I have a laptop with Viscosity App.

Using Viscosity app to either Sophos appliance, I have no problems. Stable, fast connection.
If using iPhone, to either appliance, I have problems:
Transfer starts, stops after couple of seconds, sometimes VPN sign will disappear, sometimes will stay. No matter though what, I cannot ping the VPN gateway (Sophos) internal IP any more.

Used to work flawlessly up until couple of last weeks, possibly since the latest or the one before iOS Update.
