I am trying to build a personal VPN using the community version and want to know how to transfer the client configuration file (.ovpn) to an android client.

Hello,
You can store the .ovpn file on your Android device using any of the known methods of transferring a file. For example by putting it on a MicroSD and putting that in your phone. Or using a program that can handle file attachments. Or sharing it privately online. There are too many methods to name. And then you use the import from file function in the app to load that file and you're done.
