[Feature Request] OpenVPN pause when using home WiFi

Post by Siewert308SW » Thu Nov 15, 2018 9:00 pm

Was wondering if there is still a developing ticket on a feature to pause OpenVPN when using home WiFi.
At my place i run PiVPN and PiHole on a RaspberryPi3 to keep my network clean and be able to run add free on my mobile when not at home without the need of rooting my phone and run a addfree app or such.
Also all other devices at home are PiHoled if connected to my WiFi network.

Upside is that when OpenVPN is running on mobile data it works flawless.
Downside is that when OpenVPN is running and i'm coming home and connecting to my wifi network it conflicts.
As My router points to my Pihole as dns server so OpenVPN want to connect true my external IP to PiVPN but can't get to the outerworld as it conflicts with a double PiVPN connection.

For me it aint a problem to toggle OpenVPn off.
But for my wife and daughter it's undoable as they forget to toggle OpenVPN on again when leaving the house.
I already asked Jan 2017 if it was possible to build in a option to automaticly pause OpenVPN when connected to my home WiFi.
Never got a answer or saw this option appear in a app update.
So would it be possible if we can get this option?

Regards...

Nevermind and thx anyway.
Switched over to a other VPN app which does the job and meanwhile seems to recognize and network switch better...
