slow launch on all android devices

It takes more than 2 minutes for OpenVPN Connect to launch and connect. What can I do to reduce this slow app launch?

We have never observed such delay. Could you please clarify when you see the delay? Does it happen between tapping on the icon and app showing up on the screen?
Or does it happen when you click the connect button?
Or are you using a shortcut?

The app is set to autostart when the phone turns on or on a reboot. The delay is about 2 minutes. It does this on all android devices that I have.
