Please forgive me but I am a vpn newbie and confused at a very basic level when it comes to vpns. My phone is android and my laptop is Windows and I would like to use the vpn at home on my home wlan.
My router (Netgear R6400v2) has an option to install Openvpn. But it also says (in its instructions) that there is "no android client available". Since this is a forum on OpenVPN Android I am wondering if there now exists an android client.
If I install OpenVPN on the router, does the router become the required "server" or do I also need to purchase one of the many VPN services available? Will my android phone be able to be protected on my home wlan with just OpenVPN installed on the router or will I also need an android client installed on the phone?
