Cyberghost on fire tv

Hi,
Sorry if this has been posted before or in the wrong place.
I am trying to install cyberghost VPN to my Amazon fire tv.
I have downloaded and installed OpenVPN via ES file explorer. I followed the instructions on the cyberghost website for installing and downloaded the configuration credentials in the zipped folder. I tried to install via the USB to kodi add ons but it would not install.
I have now opened OpenVPN App on fire tv and inserted the files manually to set up the VPN. It is now showing connected.
Is this correct and how do I know it is working properly. Is my IP address hidden when I use Kodi?
