OPENVPN configuration for android smartphone and netgear D6400

Post by genius17 » Sat Nov 18, 2017 11:09 am

Hi, I have a D6400 router and I'd like to use VPN on my android (huawei P8).
My router doesn't support VPN by android but I read this post https://community.netgear.com/t5/Nighth ... d-p/498207 and I understood is possible by TUN mode.
I tried the instruction below but without results.
Anyone could help me to post the correct configuration to use and configure OPENVPN by my android?

regards

Android does not support Tap mode, therefore you can't run such configuration.

Where it reads "Use tap device":

    maybe a little misleading ..
It probably means "Use tap device in tun mode" (Because Android does not support tap mode).
Also, scanning your Router manual we find:
http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/ ... G15.201111

Which states:
Note: The modem router does not support iOS or Android VPN client software.
I would contact the relevant websites (Netgear, google play and colucci-web.it <- good luck with that one) and ask for a clear answer because otherwise it looks like you will be throwing your money away.
