Is it possible to use MFA with OpenVPN on Android

Post by Knighthawk72 » Tue Sep 21, 2021 12:31 pm

I've enabled MFA on my Firewall VPN. Works great with with Google Authenticator on Windows devices, but how do you get this working on Android devices?

Searched this forum and found almost nothing on MFA.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello Knighthawk72,

I don't know anything about your "Firewall VPN". But I do know that OpenVPN Connect v3 is completely capable of MFA. This can be observed in working conditions when you set up OpenVPN Access Server or OpenVPN Cloud for example. But MFA is not in any way proprietary - this is part of the open source OpenVPN protocol and should most definitely be possible to use. But again I don't know anything about your particular solution, it may not be able to do this correctly. You may need to talk to the manufacturer of that particular device.

Kind regards,
Johan
