Disgruntled new registration

Dear website folk,
You are idiots! You claim to request a password minimum blah blah blah. I create an account...
1. apparently you do not like the email address I used - marchguard-openvpn@email.server - (service name suppressed) which is a perfectly valid format for 30-40 other accounts I have created and use regularly. WHY?
2. I provided a password which contained upper and lower case and digits yet, apparently, this too was not good enough. WHY?
WTF makes you so special that you ask for a format yet when that criteria is met you still are unhappy with it?
