Route VPN IP to specific machine on home network

Post by chipconnection » Tue Apr 24, 2018 2:09 am

Hello all,

I have an OpenVPN-AS up and running just fine. Was all set to connect clients and I realized the home network was in the 192.168.1.x subnet.

I have 8 clients connecting from other locations that will have the client installed. Is there any way to connect them to the server machine on the home network without changing the subnet of the home network?

For instance, say the remote user has
192.168.1.23 for local lan
172.27.224.15 for OpenVPN IP

Can I somehow map 172.27.238.1 to 192.168.1.50 so that remote clients with the same local subnets can reach the server?

The only machine the remote users need to access is the home server. I assume there some kind of routing I can use, but I'm unclear on the setup.

Thanks,
-John
