Client connections dropping intermittently

Post by javo » Thu Sep 10, 2020 2:31 pm

Our business is having an issue where the OpenVPN client drops connectivity for 20-30 seconds and then returns to normal.
This occurs probably about every 20 minutes or so.

I can run a continuous ping over the VPN to an internal resource and it will usually drop 3-8 packets in a row and then start pinging again.

Most of the users are running RDP over the VPN so this drop causes the session to lock up, and sometimes reconnect to their remote desktop.

It's a small business of about 10 users. The access server is a VM with 2GB RAM and 2 CPU. The resources don't seem to be the issue. it is running the latest version of access server as well.

I've been pulling my hair out trying to figure this out... Any help is appreciated.

Thank you!
Josh
