Default root password

Post by L_lefante » Mon Oct 08, 2018 11:22 pm

Hi,

I have just installed a virtual appliance and I am not able to login with the default credentials:

user : root
password : openvpnas

Any ideas?

Regards,

Yeah, do this on the console instead of SSH.

I am doing it at console. And it keeps giving me Login Incorrect message.

Can you tell me which appliance exactly you have deployed?

I understand it is the appliance for VMware ESXi.

I downloaded the OVA from here:
https://swupdate.openvpn.org/appliances/OAS_2.5.2.ova

This was according to this section in the openvpn site https://docs.openvpn.net/getting-starte ... ware-esxi/

In this section it says that the default credential are the one i specified before, however it is not working for me.

I just launched it here just to be absolutely certain, but I need not have bothered. The data is correct. The username is root, the password is openvpnas. If you cannot login, that's a problem on your end, maybe keyboard layout or such. Try typing the password in the user field to see if anything looks off.
