Issue with new setup

Post by jkay1804 » Tue May 15, 2018 12:56 pm

Hello, I set up a new openvpn server and it connects however I can not ping anything or even ping the openvpn server.

Openvpn network is 192.168.20.0/24
LAN is 192.168.2.0/24
OPVN server is 192.168.2.249
router is 192.168.2.254

I've got a static route on my router for 192.168.20.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.2.249
I've also got nat setup ip nat inside source static udp 192.168.2.249 1190 interface gigabitethernet0/0 1190

Client config

client
dev tun
proto udp
remote my IP 1190
resolv-retry infinite
nobind
persist-key
persist-tun
ca ca2.crt
cert client.crt
key client.key
ns-cert-type server
comp-lzo

Server config

port 1190
proto udp
dev tun
ca /etc/openvpn/easy-rsa/keys/ca2.crt
cert /etc/openvpn/easy-rsa/keys/server5.crt
key /etc/openvpn/easy-rsa/keys/server5.key
dh /etc/openvpn/easy-rsa/keys/dh2048.pem
server 192.168.20.0 255.255.255.0
ifconfig-pool-persist ipp.txt
#push "redirect-gateway def1"
push "route 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0"
push "dhcp -option DNS 8.8.8.8"
duplicate-cn
keepalive 20 120
comp-lzo
max-client 6
persist-key
persist-tun
log-append /var/log/myvpn/openvpn.log
verb 3

Any ideas on what it could be causing it to connect and get an IP but have no network access?

Thank you!

Nevermind, I turned off compression and it worked. Not sure why that would break it though.
