because I have vpn installed on linux ubuntu 14.04 and need to block the download of these files.

Okay. Well that's not a feature that a VPN server implements, but you may be able to do it by either forcing HTTP/HTTPS traffic through a proxy server using an iptables redirection rule, or maybe there's a clever iptables rule that can do that.

Thanks, I had thought of this option too, so I will install the proxy in linux with squid and use the rules of iptable.
