Is it possible to use OpenVPN Interactive Service without openvpn-gui?

Post by Steven_Yang » Thu Dec 03, 2020 4:54 am

Recently I have openvpn 2.5.0 install on windows and would like to use wintun. However, I get such error

Code: Select all

ERROR: Wintun requires SYSTEM privileges and therefore should be used with interactive service. If you want to use openvpn from command line, you need to do SYSTEM elevation yourself (for example with psexec).
After searching on the internet I found that the interactive service can be called by openvpn-gui, but I am not willing to install it. Is there any way to let openvpn interactive service launch openvpn session only in command line?
