Authentication OpenVPN & Joomla Site

Hello all. I am awfully new on this forum and I joined because I am confronted with the following issue:
I have a webserver/site and OpenVPN running on the same Ubuntu 10.04 VPS box and everything is working nice and dandy.
But: I would like to find out how I can registered users on the Joomla site make users on OpenVPN, e.g. I am looking for a common authentication posssibility.
I was hoping somebody here has experience in doing a thing like this.... :mrgreen:
