Date-Time stamp in log name

Post by msopenvpn » Mon Jan 02, 2012 1:19 pm

Hi forum,

I'm using OpenVPN-GUI to connect to different customers, everything is fine. For documentation I would like to have logfiles containing a datetimestamp in the name.

Tried to do a "down rename-logfile.bat" but that only says "process can't open file because it is opened by another process" which certainly is the GUI (comes with "exiting" entry after the "down ...").

Does anyone have an idea how to get logfile names like mycust005-20120102-1334.log?

Any help is appreciated, thanks a lot.

Delete from the config the log and log-append directives and start OpenVPN with the command line option to log the info to desired name.
