my isp has blocked my openvpn ports

Post by piho » Sun Jul 17, 2011 10:54 am

Hi buddies
I am from Iran
I send my data from a DSL modem and receive it from my dish (NSS 6)
I used open VPN to integrate them, but my ISP has blocked the open VPN’s ports (443 ,1194)
I want to encrypt the data that are outgoing from my computer, and then my ISP can’t block my OpenVPN
How can I do it?

Without knowing too much about your countrie's policies, I do know that its a common problem.

Other users have said that its not just the port which is blocked, but also the TLS protocol at a deeper level.

This could spell a big problem for you to overcome.

However, if its just port 443 and 1194 that your are worried about, then you can put OpenVPN server on any port you desire.

In the server.conf you can make it any number. Try something above 30000 and below 65000 for example (just one number, not the entire range).
