Post authentication scripts on Community version.

Post by chelopher » Mon Sep 27, 2021 4:42 am

Hi there,

We're currently using the Open VPN solution integrated on pFSense version 2.4.4-RELEASE-p3.

We need to implement a script that will check if the client meets certain minimal requirements (ex. antivirus already installed) prior for OpenVPN to proceed to create a tunnel. I read this is possible by creating a post-auth-script as per article:

https://openvpn.net/vpn-server-resource ... -examples/

The link "https://openvpn.net/open-source-or-access-server/" contains a data sheet where it's explicity said that the Post-authentication scripts are also supported on the Community Edition version too.

My problem is that the instructions covered in the first link are for the OpenVPN Access Server and they make reference to paths in the file system that I dont have in our OpenVPN PFSense built-in version so I just wondering if you could provide me with guidence about if this script feature is really supported on the open source solution and where I can find documentation about it or if I need to take a different approach.

Thanks in advanced.
