I have thirty mobile workers connecting to an Azure VPN Gateway from their Windows 10 laptops using the latest OpenVPN client.
Is there a setting available to add to the client config file that will run a gpupdate /force, so the users get the latest group polices?
Usually the GPO are downloaded during Windows login when connected to the domain and are enforced before the desktop is displayed. When everyone is working from home due to Covid, the group policy are not loaded and can take up to 120-minutes after they establish a VPN connection and join the domain. I have written a Windows service to look for a openvpn deamon and if its found runs the gpupdate, but I would rather the Openvpn client do this if possible. Any help would be appreciated.
Can OpenVPN client run gpupdate /force

Re: Can OpenVPN client run gpupdate /force
I've changed the GPO refresh time to 30 mins (and 5 mins random time).
I think that maybe you can use the "up" parameter to call a script on OpenVPN.
I'm thinking on adding mapped network shares on that script.
