Renaming and rebuilding TAP Adapter for Windows 10

Post by Avram » Thu Dec 29, 2016 3:37 am

I have renamed and rebuilt the NDIS 6 TAP driver - works fine on everything except the latest Windows 10 machines with secure boot, thanks to Microsoft's poorly documented, poorly executed new driver signing requirements.

To get the driver to work on Windows 10, you now have to go through the hardware developer portal and get your driver signed by Microsoft. The problem is that this involves running the Hardware Lab Kit tests against the TAP driver - and it is failing loads of the tests.

Has anyone successfully navigated this yet? Has the 'official' OpenVPN TAP driver gone through this yet?

A.

That would be very interesting for me too, because I face the same issue.
